Dry season activities ramped up this week. After looking at the calendar, John did say that it was going to get mental very quickly. Putting him straight, I told him that it’s not mental, it’s just life............

For some reason, listening to John Farnham belting out his classic hit “You’re the Voice” really lifted my spirits today. It’s been a great morning - I’ve had coffee with a friend, dragonflies are circling my garden telling me the Dry has arrived and my leg is almost straight...........
The joys of being on holiday and the boys getting on beautifully was beginning to fade as the washing pile was getting bigger and bigger............
When you go on holiday with us, you must always expect the unexpected. It’s our travel motto.............
Realising today that I am not sticking out like a sore thumb was quite liberating. I'm not limping quite so much, walking upstairs is becoming easier and my jeans now cover the sexy looking compression bandage. Whatever the reason, I am enjoying this lack of attention..............

I would have cancelled this trip a week ago, seriously considering staying at home on my own. Thank god I didn’t.............
Passing the 6 week milestone this week, I naively thought that I’d wake up and my range of movement would have miraculously come back, proudly walking with purpose again. I obviously haven't learnt much...............
We are going to Melbourne next week and I was a bit grumpy about it last night. What was the point? How was I going to get around? How was I going to cope with the red eye flight which is hard enough at the best of times.........
After the fun and games of the weekend, I thought I had better write something positive to avoid anyone feeling sorry for me, particularly my Mum...............
My weekend was a disastrously mishandled situation, AKA a clusterfuck. Thank you Celeste Barber for the reference, the Challenge is well and truly Accepted.........
So, I felt a twinge in my knee yesterday at the airport. I hadn’t seen John in a week and I was desperate for him to get off the plane and marvel at how well I was walking. It happened just before I saw him, stopping me in my tracks and making me let out a little yelp..............
Life is never straightforward, always filled with ups and downs, so why do I get annoyed when I don't feel great? Physical activity used to sort this but in the absence of that, I am turning to this blog............
Getting on my bike was a massive turning point. Immediately lifting my spirits and making me think that I've got this. With every revolution of the pedals, the stiffness in my knee became less and less and I just wanted to keep cycling and not stop. Although, I made the mistake of not wearing cycling shorts but that's another story............
